As regulatory frameworks for virtual assets become increasingly clear in the United States and the European Union, the global blockchain industry is ushering in a new wave of development. Notably, the passage and advancement of U.S. legislation such as GENIUS and CLARITY acts, alongside Bitcoin's national strategic positioning, have cemented its market leadership. Concurrently, the proliferation of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) and the global emergence of Digital Asset Treasury Companies (DATs) have seen Taiwan showcase its distinct Asian characteristics within this wave.

Following the establishment of the Virtual Asset Service Providers Association (VASP Association) and the completion of VASPs AML registration, Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) has drafted the Virtual Asset Services Bill. This Bill has been submitted to the Executive Yuan for review and is expected to be passed in 2026. The legislation covers virtual asset services licensing systems, financial institutions offering virtual asset services, and a dedicated chapter permitting stablecoin issuance, demonstrating a commitment to aligning with international regulatory standards.
